Hey Charleston Lowcountry! It’s time for another hotspot, and we traveled to Walterboro for you! Are you read for the best Mexican restaurant in Walterboro?
We were wandering through Walterboro over the weekend, and saw this little Mexican restaurant called El Pueblo. It was so amazing! I love it because everyone was super friendly, the food was so fresh, so tasty, and we were SO FULL! (Allen and I are true Mexican food junkies)!!
I don’t know about you, but we always start with chippie-dippies. Of course, the chips and salsa were brought out, but I personally need my guacamole, and we also need our Queso or cheese dip. Sometimes we will mix it up, but generally that’s our jam.
The chips were amazingly warm and fresh. The salsa (that’s Allen’s thing) was delicious enough that they had to bring him more! (That doesn’t happen often). The guacamole was beautiful, fresh, not too spicy hot, but not too mild, either!
Allen ordered the Californiano Burrito. You can see in the photo that the pico was completely colorful and beautiful, the guac was the freshest of fresh, and the salad was crisp, cool, and a perfect accompaniment. Usually the CB comes with cheese sauce, but this time, it came with red sauce. Allen absolutely loved the change of pace there, and like I said, he pretty much wanted to lick his plate clean. Kudos on this one!
I chose combination 25, beef, which is one burrito, one enchilada, and rice and beans. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but it seems that Mexican restaurants are moving away from the numbered combinations. Personally, I love them, because it gives you more variety choices, annnnnnnnddddddd…rice and beans usually come with. I have to have my rice and beans, you know? Once again, my spice level is low tolerance, and the sauce was perfectly mild with a little kick to remind you that you’re eating Mexican food.
The daquiris were so yummy and did the trick to help us relax on a hectic day. Allen got a spicy bloody Mary, and his was gone way before mine!
So yummy. This has to be such a popular spot, that I feel like everyone I know must have been here before and kept the secret to themselves! We’re going to be driving down to the best Mexican restaurant in Walterboro again! Soon!
El Pueblo is located in Walterboro at 103 Eddie Chasteen Drive. They don’t have a website as far as I could tell, nor Facebook, nor Instagram, but they are the best Mexican food in Walterboro. Amazing! Want to call them? (843) 549-9530. I did find a menu…click HERE.
