The Charleston Lowcountry’s Best Places to Picnic!
Have you been enjoying the weather lately, and felt the need for a picnic? I have! Ifyou are looking for a place on your lunch break to throw a blanket, breathe some fresh air, and enjoy some sunshine, or a place to throw a football and enjoy a burger with your family, I have some of the most beautiful spots for a picnic that we love to go!
Azalea Park, Summerville
Definitely, if you are looking for serenity, solitude, and beauty, Azalea Park is the place to go and throw down your blanket! Your meal will be even more enjoyed in the lawn overlooking Richardson Stream. This park is the perfect place to relax with its’ gardens full of fragrant flowers, thus the name, Azalea Park, as well as food for your eyes and your camera with all the sculptures, fountains, gazebos, and trails. The rec area-a tennis court- is there for those of you looking to get some exercise while you’re chilling!
Northbridge Park, West Ashley
Before I was in real estate, I worked as a Medical Office Manager, and one of the offices I managed was super close to Northbridge Park, so it became a favorite of mine to go, sit, chill out, and have my lunch. I would walk out on the pier, and be one with the river, and there was always plenty of room on one of the many benches along the pier to just have lunch and watch the wildlife. It’s great, too, because there’s a small stretch of beach, too!
Hampton Park, Downtown Charleston
So it was hard to pick the perfect place in downtown to have a picnic. Oh my Goodness! So there are obvious tons of places to picnic, so if you’d like more suggestions, just hit me up at Hello@CharlestonlivingwithCindy.com, but otherwise, my own personal fave is Hampton Park. Hampton park is 60 acres on the Peninsula of Charleston, and that in itself is hard to fathom, but it’s 60 acres of pure beauty and full of Charleston Love. The scenery, the wildlife, the playgrounds. This is great for everyone or just you! If you feel like taking a bike ride while you’re on break, they even have bikes to rent right there!
So it’s Spring. It’s time to start to breathe and relax. Throw a blanket, pull out the glasses, and just lay back for a minute…you deserve it!
