Charleston Lowcountry Featured Restaurants!! You’ll Love North Charleston’s Bahama Breeze! Check it out Here!
Okay, so we are going to start with the negative….because let’s get the negative out of the way. We waited over an hour to be seated inside. Once we were called, we were seated outside. Ugh. It wasn’t horrible, because it was a beautiful breezy day and the porch has tons of fans. However, it just seems like some management issues where the right-hand doesn’t know what the left is doing and the original table that we were supposed to be at wasn’t near a fan. HOWEVER, Linda, our seater, was amazing, and put us right by the edge of the patio at the other end, under a fan. Thank you, Linda!
Now that the negative is over, let’s find out why we have this listed as Charleston Lowcountry Featured Restaurants!! You’ll Love North Charleston’s Bahama Breeze!
The Signature Cocktails
If you want to truly feel like the Islands, Bahama Breeze is the way to go. Start with the Ultimate Pineapple! This delicious concoction of spiced rum, Coco Lopez, and Bacardi Black Rum is beautifully swirled with Strawberry Ice and served in a delicious fresh-cut pineapple. Garnished with rum-infused pineapple pieces and of course, an umbrella, which makes this a refreshingly delicious way to start your Bahama Breeze experience!
The flavors are all-natural. This beauty is not too sweet and it’s like we went out and picked this cocktail right off the tree! The strawberry-infused ice compliments the pineapple and rums as if we were back on the beach in Nassau or Cabo! This was the PERFECT drink to start our Charleston Staycation!
Spicy Bloody Mary
This drink is true to its name, “Spicy Bloody Mary.” This is everything a spicy Bloody Mary should be! The kick is great…but it doesn’t take away from the traditional Bloody Mary flavors…it’s a perfect marriage of all the flavors inside one glass. It was Bloody Awesome!
So because we waited so long, we were able to sample another one of the Bahama Breeze Signature Cocktails, the One Love. I was intrigued by the description of this tropical ray of sunshine, so I decided to give it a shot! (No pun intended)! This Lovely bev was served in a tall glass, garnished with a plastic pineapple stir stick and a lemon. I was a little surprised with the fruit choice, as they had shown a pineapple sliver on the menu photo, but oh well. This cocktail is made with Malibu pineapple rum, and pineapple, orange, and guava juices shaken together and topped with an Appleton Rum floater.
To be honest, it really wasn’t my thing, but I hadn’t had a tropical drink that featured guava juice, so I think that was probably the kicker right there. I’m all about the pineapple-rum-orange thing, so that was the only thing I could think of that would throw me off.
Bahamian Seafood Chowder
OMG, this seafood chowder is the BEST IN THE WORLD! It had a surprisingly simple description as a “Classic Creamy Chowder with Shellfish and Vegetables.” That doesn’t even come close to doing this angel-made deliciousness justice. There were tons of crab and shrimp, probably more than most she-crab soups have! This is an amazing island chock-full-of-flavor soup perfect for any season, any day, and is the true reason we will be back. Don’t leave without ordering this soup!
Classic Chicken Wings
We ordered the Buffalo Hot, and first, they came out plain. However, once returned, they had been tossed in what was supposed to be Buffalo Sauce, but not sure. It was spicy, but they had done something a little different to it. It was kind of like it was peppery instead of the usual Buffalo flavor. The peppery was more like a black pepper flavor type of hot, not a Buffalo hot. It is spicy. Also, they were not crispy, nor were they grilled, so not quite sure what was going on there.
No island meal would be complete without some delicious, crispy coconut shrimp, right?! These beautifully large shrimp, fried to perfection with their sweet, lovely coconut crisp, are definitely what hits the spot. They are simply AMAZING! Now, as a personal preference, I like the fruity sauces more than this citrus mustard sauce, but everyone has their own taste, right? Heck, I thought they were delicious without any sauce!
Spinach Dip and Chips
So, Allen saw that they had the Spinach Dip, and he had to have that, too! I know, right?! We were FULL! Anyway, this lovely dip was def your typical spinach artichoke dip, but some things you just want the way you expect them, right? The chips were super fresh and crispy, and the pico was delicious.
Time for Entrees!
If you are hungry, definitely order the Seafood Paella! A hearty amount of seafood and chicken atop a bowl of Jamaican rice. Although I tasted more land than the sea in this dish, it still was amazing and super-delicious. The spice was enough to make your mouth say Wow! Perfectly balanced, perfectly blended, and enough that I took it home and had it for two days in a row for lunch!
Applewood Bacon and Cheddar Burger
So Allen was feeling healthy after everything else and decided to substitute chicken for the burger on this sandwich. The chicken was beautifully juicy and had a very nice crust on it from the grill. This was a great sandwich and won’t disappoint if this is what you’re craving! The fries were not crispy, a little mushy, were lacking salt, and were a little chunky for our taste, but all in all, a great sandwich.
So I caught Allen with his mouth full, but Tay was an exceptional server! She was on top of things and made sure that our experience was a lot better than the way it started. She was friendly, was courteous, and was always making sure that everything was perfect. We will definitely ask for this beautiful smile the next time we stop by!
Thank you, Tay, and Linda, without you, this would not be listed as one of my Charleston Lowcountry Featured Restaurants!! You’ll Love North Charleston’s Bahama Breeze!
