STOP your scrolling now… and go check out Swank Desserts! You won’t be sorry!
I just found this amazing spot in Summerville. There are not enough words to tell you how good the Smores Bar is, and the Swank Brownie is crazy amazing! I promise that Swank worth your time to visit. I hope you love the desserts, people, and sweet bakery as much as I do! Go Check out Swank Desserts!
So I went to Swank Desserts the other day to meet a client. You KNOW a place HAS to be good when the stream of people going in and out is nonstop. Seriously. My client and I sat outside at one of their tables for a good hour, and the stream of people blew my mind. I knew at that instant that this was definitely going to be my Charleston Living with Cindy Business of the week.
It was REALLY hard to decide. As you can see by the photo of the case, there was SO MUCH to choose from, and they even offered a banana pudding milkshake! What?! Right?! Yes. It’s true. Danetra, the owner, displayed a large variety of macaroons, and even Smores Doughnuts! I wanted to try everything! Wouldn’t you?
Swank Brownie
So my favorite was definitely the Swank Brownie. It was so rich, the density was perfect of the cake, and the filling was fluffy and just delicious. It was the perfect size, and perfection in a confection.
Smores Bar
Next, I tried the Smores Bar. There was, no kidding, like an inch and a half of marshmallow, which was toasted perfectly as if my father had toasted my marshmallow on the campfire when I was a kid. My Dad could ALWAYS make a perfect marshmallow. Swank, you have no idea what a compliment this is! The chocolate was melty and the graham crust was crispy and full of graham cracker deliciousness. You hit the nail on the head on the perfect smores dessert! The only thing I can say on this one is that it was very difficult to handle, with the dessert sticking together so well, and of course, sticking to me with the marshmallow! It was yumminess, though, for sure.
Cookie Dough Cheesecake
The Cookie Dough Cheesecake…super-rich, but to be honest, a little too sweet. I know…how can that be? It’s my taste, and I could only eat a couple of bites, but I really enjoyed those couple of bites. The consistency was rich and thick and heavy, as a cheesecake should be, in my opinion. If a cheesecake is too fluffy, that’s more like mousse and doesn’t deserve to have the name cheesecake. THIS was a cheesecake. Dense, heavy, and decadent.
Regrets?
The only regret I have about going to Swank is NOT getting the Smores Doughnuts and Banana Pudding Milkshake! Seriously! They are truly gorgeous, as you can see, and I know they HAD to have been to die for!
So again, go check out Swank Desserts!
